Vit Vondrak has been working at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava since 1993 where he received the title of associate professor in 2007. His professional focus is on numerical linear algebra, optimisation methods, and High-Performance Computing. He co-established IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center, of which he has been the Managing Director since 2017. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the e-INFRA CZ large national research infrastructure and represents the Czech Republic in the Governing Board of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. He is also a member of the Governing Boards of PRACE research infrastructure, EUDAT collaborative data infrastructure, and participates in strategic steering committee of LUMI supercomputing infrastructure.
