Thomas Hammer made his PhD in Plasma Physics in 1987. Since 1988 he is with Siemens Corporate Technology. 1994 he became Project Manager for research & development in the field of energy- and environmental technologies. In 2001 he started his expert career as a Principal Research Scientist for “Plasma Technology”. From 2009 to 2011 he was responsible for the R&D Program “Energy Conversion Technologies”. After that he continued his expert carrier as a Principal Research Scientist for “Energy Conversion and Environmental Technologies”, as a Senior Principal Research Scientist for “Power and Energy Technologies” (2014), and as a Senior Principal Research Scientist for “Energy Systems”.
Thomas Hammer is member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society, IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society, German Physical Society, and the German Society on Plasma-Technology. He is the author or co-author of 44 papers in reviewed journals and 84 conference contributions, thereof 13 invited lectures. He wrote or contributed to 96 invention reports resulting in 144 granted patents (national and international) in 33 active families.
