Graduated as Doctor in Statistics from the University of Palermo, she leads the “AI&AA Engineering” Research Unit in R&I Lab of Engineering Ingegneria Informatica. She drives strategic planning for european and italian research projects with a strong focus on AI and GenAI, Big Data, Cloud and Edge Computing, Federated Machine Learning, Explainable AI. Several projects she has been managing (such as DIVINE project) deal with transformation driven by such technologies in smart agriculture domain. Her role as Research Area Manager mainly concerns with coordinating a group of researchers by using state-of-the-art PM methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 and Agile/SCRUM); defining the strategic roadmap and the operational plans of the Unit; coordinating several research projects and collaborating with the Business Units of the Engineering Group.
