
Dr. Weisgerber joined DIN in 2006, first being responsible for the national standards committees on Information Technology and related fields. From 2008 to 2015, he served as Head of a Technical Department within DIN’s standardization division, covering the areas fundamental technologies, information technology, machine and plant elements, materials, security and services with more than 20 national standards committees.
Since October 2015, he is responsible for DIN’s activities in the field of Digital Technologies and Platforms, including DIN’s Presidial Board for Digitalization, FOCUS.ICT.
Dr. Weisgerber is convenor of the CEN-CENELEC Technical Board’s Working Group on ICT Standardisation Policy since its foundation in 2012 and alternate representative of CEN to the European Commission’s Multi-Stakeholder Platform for ICT Standardisation (MSP). Moreover, he is a member of the research committee of the German digitalization initiative Münchner Kreis as well as of a number of other expert groups in the field of digitalization.
Prior to these functions, he held several technical and managerial positions in the telecommunications industry, also with significant exposure to standardization. Dr. Weisgerber holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
