Sharon Higgins is the Executive Director of Membership & Sectors at Ibec, Ireland’s largest business representative group. As part of Ibec’s executive leadership team, she oversees 39 trade associations and 11 sectoral training networks, shaping strategic direction and policy across key industries.

Since joining Ibec in 1996, Sharon has held several senior roles leading Ibec trade associations, including Director of Irish MedTech and Assistant Director of BioPharmachemical Ireland. She holds a Master’s in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Limerick and began her career in pharmaceuticals. Today, Sharon regularly represents Irish business on key national advisory bodies, advocating for enterprise competitiveness, innovation, and growth.
