With over seven years of working experience with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, Sara is currently a Scientific Project Officer at the European Commission Joint Research Centre. In addition, she is a research associate at The Business School of Edinburgh Napier University and PhD researcher in Tallinn University of Technology. Since 2015, she has been working with local and national governments in various countries and regions around the world, in a range of topics related to urban planning, local governance, and GIS analysis. Currently, the main topic of her work focuses on collaboration and governance models for an inclusive a sustainable digital transformation.
