
Born in 1959, vocational training as a toolmaker, diploma degree “General Mechanical Engineering” with subsequent doctorate in engineering at the University of Siegen.
Since 1989 Peter Post has held various positions in research and development at FESTO AG & Co. KG in Esslingen and was in charge of company-wide applied research for more than 20 years. As Corporate Technology Advisor, he currently advises the company on industrial and research policy issues and represents FESTO in various networks and clusters of application-oriented industrial research in Baden-Württemberg (e.g. Cluster microTEC Südwest, Allianz I4.0), Germany (e.g. Steering Committee of the Industry 4.0 Platform, VDMA Fluid Power Research Fund) and Europe (Manufuture, EFFRA).
2010 Awarded the German Future Prize from the Federal President, 2012 honorary professor at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and 2017 appointed to the German Council of Science and Humanities by the Federal President.
