The current goal of my research is to investigate data management and security/privacy issues in the context of “Personal Data Management Systems” (PDMS). This technology aims at giving individuals the ability to collect, store, synchronize and share personal data under their own control. PETRUS goal is to contribute to trustworthy data management in the PDMS context. We address underlying research issues which revolve around data management in trusted execution environments, data sharing and its enforcement, secure large scale distributed query processing, and the integration of these technologies within Privacy-by-Design personal cloud architectures. We also produce concrete systems that can be experimented in the field and used in industrial contexts, and focus on multi-disciplinary challenges linked to acceptability, economic and legal issues.
