Dr. Josiane Xavier Parreira (female) is Senior Research Scientist at the Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence group within the Technology department at Siemens AG Austria. Her main research interests are on semantic sensor networks, semantic stream processing, Internet of Things and Data Spaces. She was previously a postdoctoral research, adjunct lecturer and project leader at The Insight Research Center – Galway, Ireland, formerly Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI). She holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in computer science from the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPII) – University of Saarland, Saarbrucken, Germany. She has published more than 50 articles in journals, refereed conferences and workshops. During her PhD, she was awarded a fellowship from the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS), and later she was awarded an IRCSET Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
