Johan Plomp is a senior scientist and project manager at the Smart Health team of the VTT – Technical Research Centre of Finland and is based in Tampere, Finland. His current interests include data analysis and AI technologies for health and wellbeing solutions. He coordinates the ECSEL NextPerception project, where perception sensors and AI technologies are used for monitoring the behaviour and vital signs of people including elderly, drivers and vulnerable road users. He is also involved in the ITEA IVVES project, which focusses on validation and verification of AI solutions. Johan’s past experience includes leading projects and teams on diagnostics and interaction technologies. He holds an MSc degree in electrical engineering from the University of Twente, and a Licentiate of Technology degree from the University of Oulu.
