Giovanni Di Orio (Male) is a Research Engineer at the UNINOVA. Giovanni has been involved in several European collaborative research and innovation projects such as: H2020 FoF-09 PROPHESY, H2020 CIP-01 DEFENDER, ECSEL-2018 Arrowhead Tools, ECSEL-2016 Productive4.0, ECSEL-2014 MANTIS, FP7-ICT ProaSense, FP7-NMP Self-Learning, FP7-NMP PRIME and FP7-NMP ProSEco and others. Moreover, he was also involved in national research projects for the automotive industry such as ProFlex. Before his research activity, he was involved in several industrial projects in both steel and automotive industry. During this activity, he gained experience and knowledge about the state-of-the-art industrial automation systems. Giovanni’s research interests include service-oriented applications in automation, semantics & ontologies, multi-agent systems, adaptive complex systems, middleware technologies, etc. Giovanni is the lead technical architect of the NOVAAS (NOVA Asset Administration Shell) that establishes Industrial CPS according to Industrie4.0 specifications. Giovanni exhibits strong technical competences – both technologies development and technical documents’ writing – and profound knowledge of industrial digital automation systems.
