Els Breedstraet heads the open data reuse and innovation sector at the Publications Office of the European Union. She coordinates innovative projects on data.europa.eu – the official portal for European data. Together with her team, she  supports European public administration to share and open up their data on data.europa.eu. In addition, her sector runs the data.europa academy providing a comprehensive learning offer to improve data literacy skills, and takes various other initiatives to boost the use, re-use and understanding of (open) data.
