Dessislava Petrova-Antonova is the Research Lead of the Data Management Research Unit of GATE Institute at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria. She coordinates GATE research and innovation in the Future Cities application area, leading the implementation of the first Urban Digital Twin of Sofia. Her primary research interests include data modelling, data interoperability and semantic enrichment, urban digital twins and their applications for data-driven decision support in smart communities and cities. Dessislava Petrova-Antonova obtained an engineering degree in Computer systems and technologies (2000) and a Ph.D. in System programming (2007) from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria. She is a full professor at the Department of Software Technologies, Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She has co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed academic publications and coordinates GATE teams in several collaborative European projects (deployEMDS, INTEND, FINEX, FLEdge, CU).
