Denis O'Hora
Associate Professor at University of Galway

Denis studies how people learn, decide, and interact in across various environments, with a focus on sustainability, risk, and social coordination.

In his basic research, he employs diverse methods – including experiments, field studies, and process-tracing tools like mouse cursor tracking – to uncover how cognitive, cultural, and emotional factors shape decision behaviour.

He has also combined his research on decision making with applied behavioural science to address real-world challenges in areas such as organizational safety, sustainability and consumer issues.

His goal is to generate insights that are both theoretically grounded and practically useful, informing the design of systems, policies, and organizations that promote sustainable and socially responsible behaviour.

AI integration into company practices introduces considerable opportunities, but also intangible risks and Denis is working to understand individual interactions with AI tools and agents and cascading second order effects within teams.
