Ana Antunes
Agronomist at SmartRural S.L

Ana Antunes (Female) has a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy by the University of Évora (Portugal). After finishing her degree, she applied for an Erasmus Internship in Smartrural and in this company she did a 6 months internship where she had the opportunity to collaborate in R&D projects for private companies working in studies such as seed potential analysis and biofertilizers tests and other projects on crop motorization with using data obtained from RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft). For this period her work mainly focused on remote sensing techniques for precision agriculture and geographic information systems. After finishing the internship the opportunity to stay in Smartrural has arisen, and she stayed in there working in the same department working in Data Science projects. For the last two years she has been collaborating on projects for data collection and analysis. She has carried out hundreds of field samplings, analyzing crops with the appropriate equipments and throughout this period she has improved her ability to interpret the state of a crop through its in situ observation and using remote sensing techniques. Her agronomic and geographic information systems training allowed her to apply her remote sensing techniques for the improvement of precision agriculture by analyzing and interpreting results. Currently, she has been collaborating in other European projects such as AI4EU
