Professor Amy Loutfi is the task leader of Education and Training activities in the AI4EU consortium. She leads and supports the vision of becoming the leading platform and one-stop source for educational resources in AI, targeted towards students in higher education, working professionals and teachers in secondary school across Europe. Amy Loutfi has a research background in AI and received her Ph.d in 2006 in the area of machine perception. Today, she is Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Artificial Intelligence at Örebro University, charged with identifying ways of integrating AI on other courses and study programmes. Professor Loutfi is also involved in several projects related to artificial intelligence in collaboration with the public and private sector, including courses in AI aimed at working professionals called SMARTER (oru.se/ai-courses). In 2020, Prof. Loutfi was appointed one of eleven experts of the Restart Commission in Sweden representing her area of expertise in digitalization and new technologies. The task of the Restart Commission is to put forward a plan for a restart of Sweden in the wake of the corona pandemic, which includes a specific emphasis on lifelong learning.
