SPE project: Shaping Europe’s strategy for Post Exascale Computing
The Strategy Post Exascale (SPE) project aims to contribute to shaping the future of post-Exascale computing in Europe by identifying research and innovation gaps, disruptive technologies and emerging needs across High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing and Simulation (QCS) domains. The post exascale scenario implies the connection between these three ecosystems (and many others!!), collaboratively identifying cross-cutting challenges and thinking together of potential solutions that cannot be achieved by a single community in isolation. Therefore, achieving this ambitious objective requires the involvement of a broad European ecosystem beyond the SPE consortium itself, bringing together relevant organisations, initiatives and experts whose knowledge and perspectives can contribute to the development of the SPE vision, roadmap and policy outputs.
And this is exactly the purpose of this session. Building on the SPE Initial Vision document (to be published soon!) as a starting point, several experts from different domains related to post exascale are invited to share their views on priorities, gaps, and new ideas, helping to enrich and further develop the SPE vision through a broader, cross-domain perspective.
The insights and contributions from this session will then be brought back to SPE for further consideration and to help inform the next steps in shaping the vision
