Global Manufacturing-X Systems: Shaping industrial data ecosystems together
To support the development of sustainable, resilient, and competitive industrial solutions, the manufacturing industry is currently planning significant investments in the deployment and operation of a federated data economy for manufacturing. These are not isolated developments that can be achieved by individual companies, however; instead, they are part of an extensive data ecosystem that is necessarily based on collaboration transcending individual companies, industry sectors, and countries. Global Manufacturing-X (IM-X) Systems are global data-driven initiatives driven by industry and bringing together countries and regions with a strong commitment to this next stage of Smart Manufacturing.
To achieve transparency and coordinate those aspects that require a global understanding and harmonization, the International Manufacturing-X (IM-X) Council is in the process of being established with the help of several national Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives.
It will bring together thought-leaders and decision-makers from both the public and the private sector who can represent the interests of key manufacturing initiatives in countries and regions around the world, who can facilitate an active and continuous dialogue for the global nurturing of trustworthy data ecosystems, and who can steer the development of the data economy.
At the EBDVF, the central aspects of the IM-X Council as well as the next steps towards their realization will be presented to the public. To highlight the global character of the initiative, industry leaders from around the world will express their views on the subject.
