Parallel session on Implementing Common Data Sharing Spaces in Manufacturing (Boost 4.0 Project sponsored session)
The debate about Data Sharing Spaces in Manufacturing was originated in the Industrial Data Space German national project (2014-2017), where the first reference architecture and implementations were developed. The EU Data Package in 2018 and the guidelines for implementing an EU common Data Space in the private sector provided precious indications about the business and revenue models suggested for B2B Data Spaces, including Open Data, Data Monetization and Trusted Data Networks. Later on, the EC launched two events in September 2019 and after the EU Data Strategy on May 2020. In parallel with those leading edge initiatives, the BOOST4.0 BDVA Lighthouse project (coming close to its conclusion in December 2020) about Big Data in Manufacturing was conducting its activities both in the scientific-technological perspective (IDS building blocks implementation and certification programme) and in the industrial-experimental perspective (an ecosystem of industrial pilots realizing the European Industrial Data Space)
The session will present the most significant results of the BOOST4.0 project in the definition and implementation of Data Sharing Spaces in Manufacturing, in the frame of research / innovation as well as market / business perspectives provided by external leading edge experts.
The session aims at discussing the theme “Data Sharing Spaces in Manufacturing” starting from the experiences gained by the BOOST4.0 BDVA Lighthouse project in designing, developing and experimenting in industrial pilots Data Sharing Spaces and Platforms.
