As AI continues to integrate into diverse sectors, understanding the complexities of managing risks and fostering trust in these systems is paramount. This session will delve into the intricacies of socio-technical systems, where human, organisational, and technological elements intertwine, presenting unique challenges and opportunities.
Led by the experience gained by the TAS-UK hub and complemented by the contribution of ongoing projects the session will cover key strategies for identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI, including algorithmic bias, data security, privacy, and system transparency emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among technologists, policymakers, and end-users since the design phase of the systems.
We will also explore how risk management and trust are interconnected looking at different real-word experiences to validate this connection and we will discuss differences that exist in different domains.
