How to join forces in Europe towards industrial AI (part 1)
This session will bring together speakers representing European Industry-driven AI national and regional initiatives to discuss challenges and opportunities around Trustworthy AI Topics as the foundation for the development of AI-based products and services in Europe and the instruments and regulations required to exploit these opportunities while protecting the unique European values.
Session presentations and panel discussions revolve around the tradeoffs required between citizen’s rights protection and AI industrial innovation with special emphasis on the problems identified to implement the European AI Act in the different EU countries and the proposal of a trusted AI label to support this implementation. Issues around the AI regulatory sandboxes and their use as a mechanism to ease safe innovation when using AI will also be discussed. Consideration will be given to the European strengths and weaknesses from market, social and environmental perspectives. The role of national and regional initiatives/hubs and how to promote cooperation with each other will also be addressed. Finally, the private and public funding instruments to speed up progress in the AI European ecosystem will be explained and discussed.
