Data Spaces and Beyond
European Data Spaces are an integral part in creation of fostering European Data Economy. Since the release of European Data Strategy, several tracks of developments have been progressing concurrently, such as advances in regulation, trusted architectures for data sharing, and resourcing of the effort through EU programs. European Data Spaces are now in a turning point in time where the vision meets instruments to galvanize the data sharing activities in Europe. Projects, pilots and infrastructure developments are under way in Digital Europe and Horizon Europe Programs. Now it is high time to start discussion on where this development leads us and what are our next expectations: what do we benefit from data spaces, and how data spaces are a way towards thriving data economy, and what is the role of trustworthy AI and big data technologies in this equation?
This session reflects on state-of-the-art developments for European Data Spaces and gives a chance to visions on how data spaces improve and benefit citizens, cities, industry, and other stakeholders, and not only as an approach to trusted data sharing, but also to create new services, exploiting for example digital twins or metaverse. Visionary panel discussion will delineate a spectrum of possible visions adding on to current state-of-the-art understanding of data spaces.
