Data sharing trends in automotive
Several R&D projects deliver an architecture specification for unified data sharing (data spaces) among multi-modal transportation stakeholders including service operators, public authorities, and the players in the automotive industries. These projects leverage on on-going efforts towards standardizing data sharing policies using common vocabulary frameworks for service description and enhancing data accessibility among transportation stakeholders using the FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse) data management policies.
Nonetheless, in practice, data sharing in the automotive industry is very limited. Sophisticated concepts such as common European dataspaces – although there are several large initiatives in place – do not manage to make it to the automotive market and thus data sharing in still happens on a bi-lateral case to case basis. Our speakers will illustrate the current situation; a panel discussion will pick up the different opinions regarding this controversial topic.
