When innovation learns from the best data available, health outcomes for patients improve. This is why, in the age of artificial intelligence, digitized data has become the key driver for innovation in healthcare. Furthermore, availability of health data across European countries accelerates the scale and scope of innovation. However, while there are huge amounts of data across hospitals, insurances and practices, there is lack of integration. As a result combining and exchanging data from various sources to develop innovative applications is a challenge. Moreover, legal and technical prerequisites for privacy-preserving data sharing are not implemented sufficiently in most European countries.
The focus of EBDVF health track is on European health dataspaces, healthcare applications as well as post-COVID healthcare systems. It will bring together representatives from the most important European health data initiatives to discuss lessons learned from previous projects, joint positions and possible roadmaps for European health data infrastructures and applications.
