AI vs. The Infodemic: Restoring Digital Trust
VENUE: LCI-G006 – Seminar Room 5, University of Galway
TIME: 10:00 – 12:30 PM (Dublin Time)
In an era of rapid information flow, combating online misinformation is critical to safeguarding digital trust. The University of Galway and the AI4Debunk project will host an interactive session as an EBDVF 2026 Post-Activity on October 2, 2026, from 10:00 to 12:30 PM (Dublin Time), exploring how cutting-edge artificial intelligence is turning the tide against the infodemic.
Featuring insights from expert keynotes and a dynamic panel discussion “Clicking with Caution: Empowering Digital Citizens via the AI4Debunk Toolset”, this session brings together technology, policy, and public empowerment.
Attendees will gain expert insights into the front lines of digital truth and AI verification through keynotes and panel perspectives, followed by a live demonstration walking through a real-time debunking test case. Participants can then dive into a hands-on interactive sandbox using their smartphones or laptops to scan a QR code, access the AI4Debunk API, and test the platform’s accuracy live with their own submitted links or media. The session wraps up with an interactive feedback loop, giving participants the chance to directly influence the future of the tool by sharing their real-time user experience and performance input.
